Privacy Policy

The site can set a few small cookies, and nothing else:

• mc_lang_session -- essential, no choice needed. Keeps your chosen script (Meetei Mayek, Bengali, or English) consistent as you move between pages -- e.g. clicking a month arrow or opening Holidays doesn't reset it back to Meetei Mayek. Deleted automatically when you close your browser.
• mc_lang -- optional. Remembers your chosen script for your next visit, after you've closed the browser entirely. Only set if you accept cookies in the banner; lasts up to a year.
• mc_cookie_consent -- remembers whether you accepted or declined the banner above, so we don't ask again on every page. Lasts up to a year.
• _ga, _ga_* -- optional, third-party (Google Analytics). Set by Google Analytics 4 to distinguish visitors and sessions so we can see aggregate usage, like which pages get read. Only set if you accept the banner; never set at all if you decline. See the Advertising and analytics section below.

None of these cookies identify you by name, and we don't run any advertising. If you decline or clear cookies, the site still works exactly the same during your visit -- only the memory of your choice, and analytics, are affected.

The site runs no advertising network and no ad-tracking pixel. If you accept the cookie banner, we load Google Analytics 4 to see aggregate usage -- which pages get visited, roughly how much traffic the site gets -- so we know what's worth improving. It is not loaded at all, and sets no cookies, unless you accept; if you decline (or don't answer), no Analytics request is ever made from your browser.

Google Analytics reports to us in aggregate; we don't use it to identify individual visitors, and we don't combine it with any other data about you. Google acts as a data processor for this traffic -- see Google's Privacy Policy and its opt-out browser add-on if you'd like to exclude yourself from Analytics on any site, not just this one. If that ever changes (a new tool, or actual advertising), this policy will be updated first.

A few services help run the site behind the scenes:

• Vercel (hosting) -- like any web host, processes standard technical request information (e.g. IP address, browser type) needed to deliver pages. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
• Supabase (database) -- stores the public calendar/holiday/panchang data the site displays. It does not store any visitor personal information.
• Google Analytics (usage analytics) -- only loaded if you accept the cookie banner. See Advertising and analytics above.
• A third-party horoscope API -- when you open the Horoscope page and pick a zodiac sign, the server requests that day's prediction on your behalf. Only the sign you picked is sent; nothing that identifies you.
• Google Fonts -- the Meetei Mayek, Bengali, and other typefaces are downloaded once at build time and served from our own domain, not fetched from Google's servers when you visit, so no font-related data ever reaches Google.
• External links -- the “Get App” button and app-store badges take you to third-party sites/app listings with their own privacy policies, which we don't control.
